WHY WE LOVE OUR HOME


The first time we saw this house we realized it was the place we wanted to live in. We enjoy the kitchen with its spacious cupboards and abundant counter space, and the slide-out shelves in the lower cabinets make access to our cooking equipment so easy. The nearness of the kitchen to the back door and to the large deck makes outdoor entertaining very convenient. A relaxing breakfast on the deck in summer is one of our great delights. Equally enjoyable is a late afternoon cookout as the gentle sea breezes from Massachusetts Bay cool the area.

The view from our dining room window is one of graceful tranquility. At the edge of our back yard is an ancient stone wall and century-old trees, and the impression is one of a very private “wooded back yard.” Our friendly neighbors are nearby but seldom seen. The yard is particularly beautiful in spring when the rhododendrons are in bloom. Also, from the dining area we enjoy the view of the fireplace in the spacious living room. Lots of windows in both rooms allow us to keep our favorite house plants around us. Our home has very beautiful red oak wood floors which add to our visual enjoyment.

Having a bath on both levels of our home is quite convenient, and we really enjoy the recent update done in the upstairs bath. Our guest room is in the lower level and near the downstairs bathroom. Whether visitors come for a night or a week they invariably comment that they find our accommodations to be quite comfortable.

As teachers we realized when we first saw the large family room downstairs that it would be perfect for us to utilize as an office and a place for our large library. The quaint gas burning stove makes the area quite inviting. A family with children will find the space a good playroom or teens might like the privacy away from the rest of the family. This large room could even be a game room or a media area.

The neighborhood attracted us from the beginning. Lots of trees line the streets and often we see children playing and people walking their dogs. As there is very little car traffic, we find Pine Road to be a peaceful street. A short 7–10 minute walk takes us to the commuter rail station and almost no time we can be in Boston and taking advantage of its theaters, museums, and concert halls. Three major shopping areas are within a short drive from our house, and the same is true for our friendly church and high quality nearby medical facilities.

The Northshore is an area of great beauty and boundless recreational opportunities. Our home is well-located for a new owner to take advantage of these possibilities.
