3. Use Google as your test search engine: it's the largest and most used. Google crawls web sites every 1 to 7 days. To see when Google crawls your site, add some unique words on the side bar or home page, then do a Google search for these words 1 to 7 days later and see if your site appears. After modifying your site, run some typical buyer and seller searches in 7 to 15 days and see how your modifications have improved your site's search engine placement.

4. When you run a test search, review the web sites that are at the top and above yours and see what words and phrases they used.

5. Test your searches on other key search engines and directories like: Yahoo.com, AOL.com, MSN.com and AllTheWeb.com

After you run a test search, review the web sites that appeared above your site and near the top of the search and see what they did. Tweak your site accordingly, wait 7 - 10 days and rerun your searches. Other Search Engines like AOL.com, MSN.com, Yahoo.com put more weight on your Site Branding and Web Page Names.
